Finally

I am finally posting on this blog! I know it's dumb that I haven't before, but at least I am doing it now. With our big news that we're expecting our second kid it feels appropriate. Whoa! So we are going to have another baby. I have been feeling gross and pretty much am a slug most of the time because I have zero energy. It's funny how I forgot that part so quickly from the last time. But at least Afton is a creative child and likes to have adventures on her own sometimes. She is really really into two words lately, even though I have to brag that her usual vocabulary (when you can understand her) is huge! The words she's stuck on? No and Mommy. Usually these are used together; however, she is quite communicative with just one or the other too. Yesterday it got so bad, I called a time out for myself and played the piano really loud to try and drown out the yells of "Mommy!" and "No!" over and over and over and over. I'm very happy to report that today she is using some of her other words every now and then.
I think it stems from her just being bored. Since we had our first snow fall this morning, I think we'll try and have a snowy adventure outside to mix things up. Wahoo!

You know, I equate raising small children with working in an asylum for the mentally deranged. If adults did the things that little kids do (yelling 2 words all the time, banging their heads on the floor, forgetting to do simple tasks, hitting without cause...the list could go on in my family) then they would be put in an asylum after a while. It is no wonder we moms go a little nuts-- the inmates are sometimes hard to handle.
