Elmo Party

We had an Elmo-themed birthday party for the kid this past weekend. I decided to do a cake creation by making Elmo Cupcakes. They actually worked out pretty well and were super easy to do. Afton called them "Elmo Pancakes" despite our efforts to help her say cupcakes. Here's how they turned out, the army of Elmos:
We had our friends the Bernards and our family the Walkers over for the shebang. It was pretty fun to eat tons of food and then play little kid games. Afton laughed her head off while playing duck duck goose, red light green light, and london bridges. And of course she smashed lots of red frosting from the elmo pancakes all over her face. Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us. It was a fun party!

The Elmo cupcakes rock. Will you e-mail me and tell me how to make them? Grant would love those.

Oh, and Afton's dress that your mom made is awesome. I love it.

Wow! If I had known that it was Elmo themed, we would have driven the 236 miles for the party! I love the cupcakes, they look yummy.

I think I'm getting too much credit for some seriously simple cupcakes. All you do is put red frosting on. Then I used white chocolate chips for the eyes, black decorating gel for the eye balls, a dollup of orange frosting for the nose, and black licorice for the mouth. It just looks more impressive because there are 24 of them! :)
