Cars, Flowers, and Crawling

It's time once again for the report from the Pinewood Derby. This year Jared and Afton put a little more effort into the car and whipped out what I like to call "The Hornet." It was a sleek black with bright yellow wheels. Although the car couldn't compete in the official tournament, Afton got to see it race a bunch of the scouts cars in between heats. It did alright until the wheel fell off!

I have been happily busy in our garden lately. After almost killing ourselves one Saturday, we assembled raised garden beds and brought in a ton (literally) of topsoil to fill the raised beds and our front spots where there used to be tons of river rock. Then I got to buy a bunch of new plants to fill all the spots! I love doing it. Gardening has become pure therapy for me.

Ben is 10 months old now and is totally happy being a crawler. He got up from his belly crawl and now can cruise around pretty good on hands and knees. Although he is a pretty chill little guy, I have noticed he is more content being free to move around where and when he wants to. We went to an indoor kid gym/play area today and he had a blast.

And here's to finish off the post with a funny face. What a goofball.

Your garden looks great. I am jealous that you get to personalize your living space so much. You have such a nice home. Your kids look great.

I love your flower beds. I miss working with flowers. I use to love working in my flowerbeds when I had them. It was therapy for me too. Happy Birthday again and the kids sure are cute.
