I have found myself totally suckered in to sweepstakes lately. My rational mind KNOWS there is really no way that I could win that $5000 shopping spree to Pottery Barn, or get my mortgage payments paid for a year, but man, I can't help but dream.
It's kind of silly how fast I can mentally spend all that cash. I'd get good stuff, too. Not just fluffy stuff, but really good stuff that would last forever and make me happy every time I looked at it. And if I could just win the diapers for a year sweeps, think of how happy I'd be changing all the diapers I change????
I have only won one contest in my life that deserves remembering. When I was around 7 I drew a picture and turned it in to a local grocery store drawing. I won a super tough Huffy dirt bike. It rocked. Even though I was way too small to ride it, I knew I could grow into it (and my older brothers promised to take care of it for me until I did). But I think I owned that bike for about three days before someone stole it from our front lawn. I still think it was the punk kid from up the street, but can't prove it.
Anyway, I am now 32 and I think it is high time I win another contest. So, I keep entering sweepstakes thinking that it can't hurt to give out that obscure, contest-only email address that I keep for that purpose only. What if? If I win anything, I'll make sure to be generous and I'll even pay tithing on it. It's not like it's the lottery or gambling, or something. Right?

my rationalization for entering contests is that you can't win anything if you don't enter. I am right there with you. I have already spent all my money that I would win. That is probably why I haven't won anyting, LOL!!
I'll vote for you
Next time I'll take better care of your prize.

We won five prizes at a charity raffle two weeks ago. Our winnings totaled over $90. You can win your dream sweepstakes.
I always enter the free diapers for a year contest-- never win. That would save a lot of money-- especially when you have two in diapers like I will soon!! Ug. I would have Ian and Eliza enter raffles for you-- they seem to have good luck.
How sad about your bike!!
(Oh yeah! I did win Rich's wedding ring--- seriously, that has been the best thing I won so far.)
I am exactly the same way Abby. I keep thinking my number has got to be up soon. I've got to win something, anything eventually. But nope. It doesn't ever, ever happen. Last summer I was determined to win something and entered everything. But I got nothing! The only thing I won worth mentioning wasn't really me winning - I just submitted one of Brandon's photos to a contest. I may have been the one entering but Brandon won the contest. Whatever.
