Thanksgiving Thoughts

I love Thanksgiving. It is by far my most favorite holiday ever. There is nothing like some delicious turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, rolls and pie. I like a very traditional kind of meal. My family makes a pomegranate-grapefruit drink that everyone else likes. I don't like it, but I like having it on the table because it looks so pretty with the Sprite fizzing in the goblets. I love eating until I can't eat any more, then taking a walk in the cold weather, and suddenly finding room to eat some more.
This holiday is simple perfection. No stress of buying gifts, no required music to be played over and over again, no super duper decorations. Just food and family and friends. You sit around and think of all the things you are thankful for. How marvelous.
I have many things to be thankful for this year. Most of all I'm thankful for my mom. She won't be with us this year at the house but she'll definitely be there with us in spirit.

I'd love to hear your favorite Thanksgiving memories or thoughts. Humor me, it will make me happy.

I loved eating Thanksgiving dinner at the lodge in Sun Valley. We'd order ginger ale from waiters in Tuxedos and white gloves, dance to live jazz music, and then throw snowballs at the ice skaters across the park and duck behind the balcony wall.

I think one of my favorite thanksgiving memories was seeing the Macy's Thanksgiving parade in person when I was a teenager and actually saw Patrick Swayze. LOL!! But, I do agree, it is by far the best and most relaxing holiday there is. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Abby,
I'm glad to see you are doing alright, as I've been thinking about you a lot :)

My favorite Thanksgiving memories are too long to list! However, I will say that I LOVED going to my Grandparents' house in Idaho. We would all "bet" on the time we would arrive. We got to the point where we could guess within 1 minute of our arrival time! Also, I loved counting all the pumpkin pies my Grandma made. I think her record one year was 12! Can you imagine that much pie?! It was HEAVEN, I assure you!

Thanksgiving and Sun Valley are happy memories for me. Family, ice skating, snow, hot chocolate in silver pitchers. My kids around. I am just very thankful for all I have had and do have in family and memories. having Anya here for a little has driven that home big time. I love you all

Thanksgiving is the best holiday by far! Love it!! Food (my favorite)... I have so many memories of having huge thanksgivings with so many family members and having too many pies to even count. A couple years ago we figured out that we had made enough pie for each person to have 3/4 pie to themselves... CRAZY!

toilet paper, chocolate, comfy pants, getting free things from couponing. Lots more but that was on the fly and they are not necessarily in that order.

Oh, and ABBY!!!!!!

Sun Valley Thanksgivings were my favorites. I loved getting dressed up for the occasion and pretending to be fancy people. We knew we really weren't sophisticated, as is exemplified by how we made spoons stick to our noses and when we did the "pumping arm" trick with our sleeves while eating at a fancy table with waiters serving us.
