Time for something new

Since we had to take our big tree down, we decided to try a new approach to the back yard. In a way it is nice to be able to decide where we want stuff to be instead of working around an existing feature. We chose to plant three trees, one for each kid. Here's Jared getting the holes ready.
Cade's tree: Cimarron Ash
Afton's tree: Elberta Peach
Ben's tree: Honey Gold Apple
We love our new trees! Afton and Ben have been taking very good care of their trees, making sure they are watered and looking happy. Hopefully next year we'll have some fruit!

A few weeks ago I tried something new. I ran a 10k! It was with my dearest friends Jana and Mel. We dressed up as wonder women for the event and had a blast! We even took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places (because we were the only ones running our distance in our age group).
We play dress up superheroes a lot at our house. Here are the kids being super:
And finally our sweet Cade is getting big enough to sit on Jared's shoulders.

Wow! Wonderwomen! That is great-- looks like so much fun. Holy flying leap, Batman-- can Ben really fly??

That is great you are planting a tree for each kid-- perfect picks for each.

Hurray for trees! Cade is growing so fast. That race sure was fun! I'm glad we found a way to make it work while you were in Utah.

What great superheroes all around. But you must not observe the rule "no capes" from the Incredibles. So don't get sucked into a jet engine ok.
Love the new trees. That is so fun
