Well I had my first prenatal visit yesterday. It was a long visit (the first one always is) with a lot of poking and prodding, but I made it. The icing on the cake? I got to hear the baby's heartbeat!!!! The little kid was pounding away at 140 beats per minute. Right on target! My dr. is really great, but he doesn't have the most current technology. Instead of a little handheld doppler to broadcast the heartbeat, we each had a stethoscope to put in our ears and hear the baby. I had to stop giggling at how old this thing looked in order to concentrate on the heartbeat. I think that was probably used back when my mom was in utero! But it worked, so who cares!
Now, not to diminish my love for my daughter, here's her latest passion: singing. She sure loves to try and sing the words to any and all songs. Man, I think she is cute.

YAY!! Which doctor did you decide on?? Is it Blauer?? It was the stethoscope with the double ear pieces?? Ha... We use those in school for our teachers to make sure we know how to accurately take blood pressure. That is pretty funny, but so awesome that you can hear the heart beat... I always have a stethoscope if you want to hear it in between visits!
Hey Abby! I stalked you down from Adele's blog. I just posted some pictures of Rylee and Afton that I took while she was over yesterday, what cute little girls we have! Glad your dr. appointment went well, I'm excited for you guys!
That is always so cool. It is good to hear that little beat. That is so funny you got to hear it with a stethascope-- and to think that I was so mad at my ultrasound with Luke because he wouldn't turn his head for the 3D picture!! Ahhhh we are so spoiled with technology sometimes!!
So with the fast heartbeat, that means it's another girl, right? Just kiddin.
I am so happy that we get to keep having babies every year. Makes life fun!
It is always fun to hear the heartbeat! Fast or slow doesn't necessarily mean girl or boy. Ian was always in the 160's, probably because he is soooo active. Eliza is more mellow, and her beat usually hung out in the 140's.
Now I have to comment on my own post because after reading it, I had to laugh at myself. It sure is obvious I'm in the worried stage about making sure I love this second kid as much as I love Afton, and at the same time, trying not to make Afton feel less important. ha ha. I'm a spazz.
