Whew! We just had a whirlwind visit to my fam in SLC. It was very nice to have gone, but it was crazy too. We did all our "big city" shopping for Christmas on Saturday and finally feel like we're ready for the holidays. I think that I conveniently forget how much work it is to get the fam packed up in the car with all the necessary items for just a two day trip. It's more centered around the kid because we have to make sure she's entertained for the drive, clothed for all possible weather conditions, diapered for the duration, and that the times we drive don't interfere too much with her mealtimes, naps or sleeping time. It's too bad she isn't one of those kids that will fall asleep in the car. No no! That would be just too easy.
After having to endure her squacking for two hours in the car, Jared and I happily dumped her off at Grandma and Grandpa's house for her nap and we took off for a couple hours of quiet shopping. Sounds like an oxymoron: quiet shopping at Christmas time. But it was! We were super fast at the park city outlets. In-n-out shopping. Just like I like it.
The main reason for going to Utah was to be at the blessing of our new nephew Parker. He is the cutest little boy! He loves to just smile and be chill. There is a magic little thing that happens when anyone holds him. You just all of the sudden feel total happiness and peace. What an awesome gift that babies have. It makes me more and more excited to have a little baby around again. Afton is in love with all babies, so I think she'll be pretty great at being our little helper. My brother gave such a beautiful blessing that it made me tear up. Then the rest of the sacrament meeting was really great too. I am so glad we made the effort to go. It was very worth it!

We missed you Sunday during our song.. I had another solo just like last year... Shailor did an awesome job on the accompaniment though!
That's cool and congrats on being an aunt and uncle again. I am excited for your next baby too!!!
Babies ARE fun, aren't they? I am so excited for your next little one. Afton will be a super sister. You shop like I do-- the quicker the better-- know what you want and get it and go!
