Life in all its phases

On January 4th my dear Grandma passed away. She was 95 years old and it was time for her to go, but that doesn't mean I am not sad. She was one of the most amazing women I have ever known. I feel so blessed to have the memories that I have of her and to have spent good quality time. I also am so glad that Jared got to know her and that Afton met her too. We saw her last on Christmas day. She looked at Jared and me and the first thing out of her mouth was, "Where's Afton?" I miss her and love her very much. What a wonderful thing to know that I'll be able to see her again.
Today I got to have another doctor visit to check the progress of our baby. I wish I could express myself better to describe the sweet feeling of knowing my Grandma is in heaven and that our next little baby is getting ready to come down to us. It's amazing how the cycle of life always continues on and we are blessed to have our lives and spirits intertwine. The day my grandma passed, I started feeling baby flutters. Life is beautiful.

Life is beautiful! I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother. What a blessing it is to know of the atonement and how much it blesses our lives just knowing that. Let me know if you need anything.. You're amazing!

abby...I'm so sorry. I remember how impressed I was that you would do so much for your grandma. I was inspired to cultivate such a relationship with my grandparents. I know it doesn't matter how old they are and how long of a life someone lived, it still is sad and hard. i'll definitely be thinking of you these next few days.

cool juxtaposition of life and death and the overall greatness of the plan of salvation...with the death and the first sensation of your sweet baby. life is beautiful, and we are so lucky to know who is in charge.

give my love to amy and the rest of your family. i sure love the carlstons!

I just read her obit. What a neat lady. She sounds like she was a wonderful grandma. What a beautiful lady, too. I hope I can look that pretty when I am older and grayer! I am sure she is up there prepping your little one. (Have I ever told you what Sammy said to me when she was really little about Rich's mom? )

Thanks for your comments everyone.
Julie, I have heard your story about Sammy, it is beautiful. I hope we can catch a little of that thinner-veil knowledge too!

Abby, it's 'Rika! How are you? How is post-law-school life for you guys? We're doing fine. Congrats that another one is on the way. Do you know what you're having yet? How far apart will the kids be? Your daughter is a doll. Anyway, I was glad to see you and your cute family! Check out my blog too! www.camieandmaddie.blogspot.com

Sorry about your Grandma Abby. I love to think of our loved ones preparing the little spirits that will be coming to down to us. My mom told me before she passed, that if she could, she would be there in the spirit world holding, loving and teaching her grandkids before they came down to earth...I like to think that is what happens.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. Even though you know its time for them to go it doesn't make it much easier.

So is true? Are you really moving here?? I'm so excited! Let us know if you need to stay here to look for a house. I'm pretty familiar with the area too since I scouted it out while looking for our house for 6 months so let me know if you need help. There's a house in our neighborhood that's for sale by owner. email me if you need help cwbernards@yahoo.com. I'm excited for you to join our Spokane girls night out. There are 5 of us who have moved here from Spokane (3 which were law students) and its been so fun.
