Family

Our summer trip to visit family was so much fun! We got to see both sides of the family and spend some time with friends too.
It all started with the Spudman Triathlon. Jared rocked it and came in at a quick 2 hours 38 minutes. I am totally proud of him for pulling it off without having trained for the swim at all. Burley was hot that day and I was a bit crazy trying to look after two kids (I am new at it, afterall). I didn't see much of his race, but we were at least there to cheer him down the last stretch to the finish line. Here's our champion Hubby/Dad as he makes his last sprint to the finish.

Then we headed to Utah for a big weekend of Ben's blessing and lotsa fam. Benjamin was blessed and named by his father. It was a beautiful blessing.
We got to meet the other new babies in the Carlston clan too: John and Luke. They are six weeks older than Ben, but not much bigger. Our little lad is growing like crazy; he even grew out of some clothes in the few days we were away from home! The three babies together made for some serious cuddle moments around the Hotel. Afton and her cousin Katherine kept it all lively too because of their love/hate relationship. They spend most their time trying to be together but usually are fighting the whole time they play. Ha ha. Two toddlers who think they run the world.
As for the Stubbs cousins, I just am madly in love with them. We got to briefly see Ian and Eliza in Burley and then got to hang out with the Olsens in Utah. I can't believe how fast those one year olds are growing! Wow. Seems like yesterday they were little like our boy.
I am totally ashamed to say that I was so busy that I didn't even take a picture of the blessing day festivities. So if anyone in the family has any pictures, please please send them my way. I'm going to take post-blessing pictures of Ben in his blessing outfit for memory sake. He wore the same blessing onsie that Jared wore 31 years ago. Very sweet.
Jared had to head home to be the breadwinner after the blessing, but I got to stay with the kids for a few more days. We had such a great time! We even got to go up to my parents cabin and soak in the beauty there.
Afton was lucky enough to have her horse camp experience. She got to lead a horse, brush it down before putting a saddle on it, and take a ride around the riding ring all by herself. Thanks to my cousin Ruth!!! Afton had a blast. Here's a collage of her horsemanship and our other walks around the gorgeous landscape. I love the Uintas.

Great pictures Ab. I was particularly impressed by the depiction of Jared's valiant stretch at the end of Spudman. What a studman. :)

Did I already comment to say hi? I don't remember. Anyway, what fun to find you after all this time. Now I can keep up with you. I love A/C too. And little girls.
