What a Year

Is that title too trite? Yes? Well, too bad. It fits what I feel about 2008. I declare this year as maybe the most dramatic in its highs and devastating in its lows that I have had to date. So, I think I shall make a list. A list to recount some major milestones in my family's life. Both so I can remember and so I can feel like I have checked them off of my life lesson list and maybe squeak by without doing some of them again. ha ha How about a top ten list (it's not in chronological order)? Why not.
drum roll please...
#10 Selling our "first" house. And right in the nick of time before the economy tanked along with the housing market.
#9 Family events: Jared's brother returns from a mission, my sister gets married, two nephews born, etc.
#8 Jared getting a new job.
#7 Afton turning two years old. Our baby all of the sudden grew up.#6 Health issues of all kinds. Jared, me, my mom, and many other loved ones.
#5 My Grandma VG passing away at 95. One of the most influential female figures in my life and about whom I think every single day.
#4 Health issues again of all kinds. Yep. It was a hard year.
#3 Starting over for the third time in our marriage by moving to a totally new place.
#2 Celebrating 5 years of marriage!
and the top event of 2008 in our lives was:

#1 Benjamin Mark Stubbs was born!!!!

Ditto to what Jan said- You have sure handled everything very well.. PS. I'm still bitter about you moving and selling your "first" house... My sister was telling me how nice it is to have a good neighbor that I can run my baby monitor over to and run a quick errand- and she pointed over to your house... at which point I had to remind her that my great neighbor had abandoned me... Oh, I mean moved to Boise. Just kidding! Love you guys! Here's hoping 2009 is a more relaxing and peaceful year for you guys!

You were much more kind in describing 2008 than I would be :)

You are amazing Abby. You always handle pressure with such grace. Anyway - I hope you have a great 2009. You deserve it!
