OH JOY!

I have the BEST news and I simply must share it. We recovered ALL of our lost pictures!
A fantastic guy that Jared works with took on our cause. He put his techie genius to work and somehow got all our stuff back from the dead. I have offered him all sorts of rewards including homemade dinners for a week and money. But this amazing guy just said our joy at getting the pictures back was reward enough. And he asked us to pay it forward. Can you believe how great he is?
So, in honor of recovering our photos, I am going to post a couple of our precious ones we lost and found again. They may not be the best photos taken, but they mean a lot to us.
The first is a funny look back at how young we looked before being parents aged us:

This one is of Afton the day she was born:

Now I have learned me lesson and will be triple backing up our stuff on other things than our faulty external hard drive.

In other news, last weekend it was sunny and warm-ish here so we had to run outdoors immediately. We had a great time! We went hiking and biking and soaked up all that good vitamin D.

I've decided to do a long bike ride this summer so I need to get back in shape to do it. If I don't have a long race/ride to scare me into shape I just don't think I'll exercise. So here is to my goal of getting back into biking shape. Wish me luck! These two are going to be my training buddies. What a pair!
(she asked me to take this picture of her)(he was just looking so dapper for church I had to document it)

Look how rested you two look in that first picture! Remember what it was like to get some sleep?

that really is the best of news! i am so happy for you. i would die if i lost all my pictures... they are so much fun to have.
and i could not agree more, that parenting ages you remarkably quickly. i have gained 10 years per child.
i am running a 10k this summer and it is like training for a marathon for me (because i hate running soooo much) so that is my (lame but still big for me) goal. good luck on your bike riding goal!

That is awesome that you got your pics back. I am so happy for you-- I can imagine how sick I would feel losing so many!

You are doing the bike ride? Sweet! Is it the one you were talking about? If it is, I will tag along with you, but I will be slow.

That is SUCH good news! I am constantly worried about our pictures. I can't say I have anything else in this house (besides the people of course) that I care about losing. I get hard copies, CD's with the pictures, backups of backups...it is so scary to lose those precious visual memories! Hurray again!

Glad to hear it. I was sure that the right computer-person could do it. I am glad that you found such a generous friend.
