Last night we taught our kids about the bible story of Jonah and the whale. After we asked Afton if she wanted to tell it back to us. Not only did she want to tell the story, but she wanted to act it out. We all immediately got parts. What follows is a brief summary of the event:
Afton: I'll be The Joe. Mom, you are the whale.
Me: Do you mean Jonah?
Afton: Yeah, The Joe. *pause* Oh, I don't want to go to China! (her translation of Ninevah) I run away. Jump on da boat. *pause* Dad you frow me off da boat.
Jared: Hiyaa!
Afton: Whoa! A Whale!
Me: gulp
Afton: (laughing hysterically) Oh no I'm in da whale! Heavenly Father I'm so sorry for running away and being naughty.
Me: patuwee
Afton: Hello China! You are being really bad. Be nice. Dee end.

I like her version. Very entertaining
What an imagination! That is hilarious and so darn cute:) I wouldn't want to go to China either, sorry Missy.
How adorable! We too have been telling this one a lot recently, but your version sounds much more lively!
Oh that is awesome! I love how her little mind works!
Too cute, little almost 3 year olds are so entertaining aren't they?
That is cute. Better than when we did the story of the Good Samaritan. I asked Seth how he could be more like the Good Samaritan, and he told me "I don't want to be like him, It sounds like more fun to be one of the bad guys". Hmmm...I didn't know how to respond to that one!
Your girl is awsome!!! I can´t stop myself laughing!!! I wish I could meet your kids!!!!!
Love,
Cris
She is definitely one of my most favorite granddaughters! She is clever, cute, curious, and all I can say is... Watch Out World !!
that is ADORABLE!!!! so cute!!
That is honestly the best version I've ever heard of the story! Leave it to a child to put it all in perspective in nice, simple, easy to understand terms. I like the noise you made when you threw her off the boat!!
FANTASTIC!
