Happy 3rd Birthday Sweet Afton!

Afton Elizabeth turned 3 yesterday. We celebrated all day long. She got her regular saturday morning pancakes and a couple gifts. At lunch we had a picnic in our backyard and celebrated by eating a rainbow cake. When we asked her earlier this week what kind of birthday cake she wanted, she thought about it and told us a rainbow one. Here's how it turned out:

She was so excited to see it that after eating a piece, she had to change her outfit into her rainbow shirt to match her cake.

Her other gift was a sandbox. Jared polished his handyman skills and made a fantastic sandbox. We'll be spending a LOT of time in it this summer.

Although three years seem to have sneaked up on us very quickly, I can't imagine our lives without our crazy little girl. She has so much passion for life. It has been great to see her grow up these past few months into a little kid who articulates what is on her mind and is always eager to learn something new. Her favorite things to do right now are sing all the words to a new song, play any kind of sport outside, make her brother laugh, draw very colorful pictures, play dress-up time, and play at the park. We love you Afton, happy birthday!
