One of those

Did you ever have one of those days where nothing really remarkable ended up happening but there sure were a bunch of close calls? That is kind of how I feel today. This morning I was taking some personal time (in the bathroom if you know what I mean) and I heard a bang and then my baby Ben crying really loud. Next Afton comes racing to the door and tells me "blah goblah blah blah Ben!" I couldn't understand her because she was too anxious to really speak very clearly. As I hurriedly got myself run-ready I found Ben trapped under a little shelf that he had pulled down on himself. It was luckily a very light, small shelf that just had a few kiddie books on it, so nothing really bad happened. But it was a close call.
Then when I was getting groceries I forgot to unload the lower rack of my shopping cart and drove home. As I was unloading at home, I realized my mistake and quickly loaded the kids back into the car to try and retrieve my stuff. Since those cart-guys are so efficient at their jobs, the stuff was gone from the parking lot. I had to go inside and wait in a customer service line and ask for my stuff and show them my receipt to prove that I had really paid for it but had just been spacey. Another example of nothing really happening, but it was close.
Kind of a boring day really.

Oh Abby! Ug. I'm glad you have a good attitude. Sounds like a crazy day. But good it all turned out so well.

Those days seem to be frequent with small children, don't they? And then we are totally whipped at the end of the day and wonder why because we "really didn't do much"...right.

You don't need to keep count, but I am sure that you have literally saved the lives of your children many many times and will do it again in simple ways. That gives you permission to forget a couple of small things like groceries. I mean, come on, you saved a kid's life this morning.

whew what a day. Sometimes I think back on things that happened with the kids and I am amazed we all made it. I was too busy to realize how many close calls I had I guess. good job mom. You were the watch guard

Tessa is standing up and pulling things off of shelves and tables onto her head right now too. The other day she was pretty distraught when the biography of George Q. Cannon (pretty thick book) landed on her head.

Those kind of days DO happen a lot. At least you forgot the groceries in the cart, and not one of the kids. That would be worse! (Had a friend that did that by the way)Fun to catch up on the blog. Your kids really are so very cute!
