during
and after
Jared and the kids hung out with his sister and family in Newton. They had so much fun we had to pry Afton away crying, "I don't want to go to my house! I want to stay here forever!"
When we got home we watched a little movie of our nephew taking his first independent steps. Well, that got Ben all excited and he wanted to try it too. So here he is after a day of practicing!
Thanks to our fam for their hospitality and incredibly yummy carb loading dinner the night before my ride. And thanks little Luke C. for making Ben want to take some steps!

Great pictures and what an accomplishment. You are terrific. I used to think I did well just making it through the day with my kids...riding 70 miles on a bike never entered my head. The video of Ben is amazing. He is really taking off. Hope the sunburn is healing ok. sure love ya
Nice work Abby on the bike ride, Abby, and I can't believe that Ben is walking already. What a weekend.
Holy smokes! That kid just took off walking! He has the determination of a mom who can ride 70 miles on a bike in the wind, rain and sun!
We are glad that the ride came through our town!!
Way to go, Ben!!!
It means Ben will be running all aroung when I finally get there???
How exciting! Both the riding AND the walking. It's so cool that you have that much endurance. And Ben is so adorable.
Holey moley.. He is actually walking! That's crazy.. I was just looking at some pictures of when Beckett was 2 months old and we were at your house and Ben couldn't even sit up very well on his own... and that doesn't seem that long ago!... but wow!! Go Ben!!
And CONGRATS on your big bike ride!! That is such an accomplishment!!
Congratulations! That is so awesome! You must be so proud...
Hooray for Ben! I like that you were still smiling after your race. Good job!
wahoos all around!!!!
How wonderful is it that I get to see our Ben walking!!!!
He is a wonder!! And has the greatest grin!!
Congrats for succeeding with your goal of the long bike rise and being fit to do it in the first place!!
So sorry about the sunburn. Oh well.
You are amazing and inspirational!
Abby,
This is a great accomplishment! I'm so happy for you. I don't know if I could make it that far. (Well, I've never tried.) Your boy is adorable--walking after just one day! What a super family you all are!
