The second half of our holiday was a stay-cation. Here in good old Boise there is a lot to do outdoors, so we explored in the mountains at Bogus Basin. We'd been up there to go snow-shoeing and had a blast. This time we hiked around on a cross-country ski trail and enjoyed the breathtaking view of pine trees against clear-blue sky.

Hiking for Labor
This Labor Day weekend we had a two-pronged celebration. The first half we spent in Pocatello while Jared ran the last eight mile leg with his brother who was doing the Pocatello Marathon. Go Mike!

It was our most successful hiking adventure with the kids so far. Even though they screamed the whole drive up the mountain, once we got out of the car it was a blast. Afton found each of us a perfect hiking stick (whether or not we wanted it) and Ben whacked everything in reach with a stick
Can you believe we hiked for an hour and a half? We even found the spot where our nephew took a wild sledding ride earlier this year. I think it looks even more crazy than when there was snow everywhere.
