I decided to try my hand at taking our co-op preschool on a field trip. We were wrapping up the alphabet this week so I thought going to the Zoo would be a great way to celebrate (get it, the letter Z?). I got them all prepped on Tuesday at school of what to expect and Thursday we headed out. It was supposed to be the nicest, warmest day of the week. But spring weather never is what you think it will be. It was super rainy and cold. No matter! The kids had a blast anyway.
Each one got a Zoo Bingo card where they could color in the animal that we saw. Some kids thought it was cool, some didn't want to bother carrying it around, and one dropped it in with the zebra' accidentally.
Here are some cute photos of the kiddos:
This year's preschool class: Noelle, Caleb, Abby, Afton, Sophie, and Marcy

Afton and Caleb posing in front of the serval.

They fought over who would drive this safari jeep for awhile until we convinced them that there were more cool animals to see.

The giraffe slide is always fun even in the pouring rain.

Ben, Afton and I headed to the park the next day and finally enjoyed that sunshine we were promised earlier. Ben is a pro at climbing up stairs and cruising down slides.

Afton gets more daring and tries the tricky bridges and slides down on her stomach.

It's good to get out and soak up some vitamin D and let off some energy. They are such good sleepers at night when we get outside during the day!

Looks like a great field trip. I wish that we had a good zoo here. I'll tell our pet store to add a serval to their menagerie and then we'll be one step closer to cool.
I like your new picture up top.
that is the coolest slide ever.
Love love love their smiles. What fun
That looks like so much fun! I love the zoo bingo idea. I love the "Please to not climb" sign-- my two year old who can't read would be in the pen with the serval in two seconds!!
Wow. Taking your whole preschool class to the zoo on your own! I'm impressed. I wouldn't dare with my group of preschool kids. They'd be scattered in every direction in a matter of seconds, never to be regathered. Looks like a great time. Glad you had fun.
