Then all the family arrived in Boise and we celebrated at our house by eating food and hanging out together. Boise put on a gorgeous spring show and gave us practically perfect weather.
Afton was very excited prior to her baptism and then all the adrenaline caught up with her and she was overcome with emotion during her confirmation. I think all the attention on her was overwhelming to her so we had to give her a little space while she got herself together. Once she had recovered from the spot light, she was back to her exuberant and happy self. Later that day she told me that she felt a difference in the middle of her chest after she came up out of the water. She described it like a pressure or a box right by her heart. It scared her a little bit and she asked if this was just how it was going to be now that she had the gift of the Holy Ghost. I told her that is was a box that held power to tell her the difference between right and wrong and help her make good choices. She would get used to that feeling and the more she used it, the better it would feel. She seemed to like that idea and we were able to make it a good experience. Afton said her favorite part of the day was having all those cousins come to visit. Thanks cousins!
The next day we celebrated Cade's third birthday! Our squidgy Cade is such a cute little dude. He has stolen all our hearts with his goofy antics. We sit at dinner and just wait for him to say something and then we all laugh. He loves the attention! Cade is a sweet, cuddly, coordinated, silly, smart, kind, happy boy. He follows Ben around like a little shadow and wants to be just like him. Cade jumps on whatever imagination game Afton is creating and has the time of his life playing along. He loves all things super hero, is really into ninjas and Chima speedors, and loves to dress up like King of the castle. He loves to snuggle and wrestle with me, but the second Jared gets home he is 100% a Daddy's Boy. We love our three year old Cade!
