From Idaho to Utah

Wrapping up our life in Boise was bittersweet in June.  Ben finished up in Kindergarten with great momentum in reading and math.  He loved every day of school and even got to have an un-birthday party in class because of his summer birthday.  Afton said goodbye to her classmates in 2nd grade and was glad to have a summer break!  I had a lot of fun playing with my friends too as we did my final Baby Breakfast Club and girls nights out.  Friends are great!

We tried to squeeze in as much fun stuff as we could in between packing.

One week before we were going to close on the house and move to Utah we got the BAD news that the seller's financing had fallen through.  Ack!  We were very nervous and upset about it all especially because we found all of that out as Jared was walking out the door of his Boise City job at that very moment.  He decided to go to the Temple and I sat and prayed and guess what?  It all worked out!  We put our house back on the market on Friday evening and on Monday afternoon we had shown the house and gotten a solid offer!  Here are the kids helping me put the sign back up in the yard.  Cade is wondering why I am taking so many pictures with this red metal thing in the grass.

We forged ahead with our moving plans and loaded up the huge moving truck.  So many people helped and it made it go very smoothly.
Our last family picture on our front porch!
We said our final goodbyes to friends (with many tears for the eight year old) and headed with Jared's parents to a hotel for the night.  Swimming in the hotel pool helped soothe some sad hearts and distract us from the long day.
The next morning we loaded everyone in and started the drive.  There were a lot of tears as we pulled out of Boise.  As we got closer to Utah and Grandma's house it started to feel better though.

Jared was manly as he drove the big truck.
Many thanks to Mark, Josh, and Pete who helped us unload the truck into the storage unit.  And many thanks to Jan for wresting the kids the whole time.  We did it!  We moved to Utah!!
