After two pretty stressful and busy weeks of constant work, we got the house put together enough to move in. A HUGE thanks to my brother Chris, my sister-in-law Amber, my old neighbor and friend Adele, my mother-in-law Jan, and the guys from two elders quorums for giving us the extra help and support to make it all happen.
We love our new digs. Even though we are wading through tons of boxes we are happy. Rediscovering our stuff after having it in storage for six months is like having a big birthday party with lots of gifts you love getting. I have found myself saying, "I am so glad I have this!" several times.
We had to paint the whole house, install some new carpet, put up baseboards, and do some other "finishing" work on it. Here are some action shots:
Chris and Jared painting one of the many walls that used to be peanut butter colored
Me loving painting baseboards
Afton helping Amber take off the face plates
The move went pretty slick. Since almost everything was boxed up already, it was only a matter of getting it from point A to point B. But this is what we were left with:
Jared proved he is the best husband ever by moving my piano once again:
Afton had a blast with it all, but inevitably broke down with all the craziness:
Ben slept through most of it!
We "inherited" a bunch of stuff from the previous owners. Some cool and some useless. But we did benefit from them planting a peach tree in the back yard. Although it is still small, we got seven yummy peaches off the tree. So we made peach cobbler to celebrate!
And to wrap up, here is a little video of our baby boy who turns three months old this week! Wow, how time flies!!!!

I'm so glad we could be a part of it all! Honestly helping you get your house ready scratched all sorts of itches for me! It was how I wanted my house to be when I got it: paint some stuff and move in! (little did I know...) I especially enjoyed the purple paint!!! Oh and holding your Ben helped some itches too :)
congrats!!!
Oh my goodness... I had already forgotten that peanut butter color- Ahhhhh... I seriously had forgotten how horrible it was- Wow... I'm so glad you guys are in the house though! I was just thinking about you and shot you an email last night while I was at work. Good to see that you're doing well!!
Congratulations on the new house! Hope we can come visit you some time.

Hooray! Smart move to get rid of the peanut butter walls-- ewww... Your house looks great (from what I saw). We will come bug you when you are settled in!
Conrats! It looks like a lot of fun work! Glad you get to be in your own place, with space for all your special little knick-knacks that make life happy! Beautiful kids!
Congratulations on your new house. I am sorry that I couldn't offer any help. I just returned from ten days on a fire in Island Park and am catching up on everything.
