July Stuff

It's finally HOT here and we are having a blast trying to keep cool. This kids are taking swimming lessons. It is an intense four days a week for two weeks. They love it! Ben and I are taking a "Mommy and Me" class together where I get to swim with him and teach him some basics. He is the oldest in his class, all the other babies are little and aren't even walking yet. Our Ben is Mr. Swimmer Champion though and his favorite thing to do is a superman jump in from the side. He goes under water and smiles the whole time. It is hard to catch Ben with his mouth closed, but he somehow manages to hold his breath and kick his legs with it open without swallowing any water. Our dreams of raising an olympic swimmer are developing quite nicely. :)
Afton is getting brave and can swim for about four seconds all by herself. It's awesome to watch her kick her skinny little legs under the water and then see her super proud face as she realizes that she just swam across the pool. I love our swim instructors. They give a sucker when the kids finish their lesson. The only motivation great enough to get OUT of the pool.
In other news, today we decided to go on a family hike. It started with whining kids but ended with happy ones who wanted to keep hiking all day. They did a great job. Here we are on top of Castle Rock:
And this last one photo I throw in there because it makes me laugh. The other day while playing with her best little friend Samantha, Afton came in the room looking like this: Wow. Simultaneously hilarious and freaky. They were swapping clothes and pretending to both be expectant mommies. The result came out a bit trashy, don't you think?
