The day finally arrived! Afton got to start Kindergarten yesterday. She was very excited to start after waiting all summer. She picked out her outfit, a hairdo, and wore her backpack happily. We got to have a little orientation with the teacher. I think that was really good for Jared and me to see where she would be and check out the person who will be spending tons of time with our daughter for the next 9 months. It was also fun to see that there were familiar faces in the class, three of them being the girls she did preschool with a couple of years ago.
She reported that the first day was short, but fun and the she couldn't wait to go back the next day!
There weren't any tears or sadness. I think more than anything it is a little surreal to realize we are beginning this long educational journey. From here on out, we go to school. I am really grateful for the chance to get an education and Afton can't wait to learn everything she can. Here we go!

Oh I am so glad school did not disappoint her and that she had a good day. So full of hope and anticipation. You just want it all to go right. Sure love you all
She looks great. I am glad it went well. Our boy doesn't start for another week!
Great smile!
How exciting! She looks thrilled. It is strange sending that first one off, isn't it? LO is dying to get to school now that his sisters are gone during the day.
