Summer Trip o'FUN!

We finally got to go on a fun summer trip! We met up with Jared's family in Stanley Idaho to see the gorgeous Sawtooth mountains and take a dip in Red Fish Lake. It was heavenly!
The kids were looking forward to it for months so had planned out all sorts of things they wanted to do. Ben was determined to go fishing with a net and catch many fish. Afton wanted to swim a ton and see her cousins.
We got there early and headed right to Lake Stanley to see if we could catch a fish. We'd been told by a local that they'd just stocked the lake with trout and if you caught one with a tag you could win $$. Well, we tried, but didn't have any luck that day.We didn't mind not catching a fish, but we sure enjoyed the view! Ahhhhhhhh, mountain lakes. So clean and beautiful.
A pack of little boys hung around us while we built some sand castles. It's fun to make new friends on vacation. ;)
We went early the next morning to the fish hatchery to watch them catch, weigh, measure, and move the huge salmon. It was fun to see fish as big as some of the kids!There was a kiddie fishing pond there, so the grandkids, Jared and Grandpa Mark all tried their hand. Our little Afton came away with two fish! It was very exciting, but a little sad too because Ben was really bummed it wasn't him. I think he likes the idea of fishing but doesn't really care for the details of actually getting the line out in the water to try and catch one!
We had such a blast with family at the lake. It was a nice warm day, and we all got to play in the water and the beach, row in the boats, rest in the shade, and spend time together. Perfect!
On Sunday we went to the local branch. The chapel in Stanley is magnificent for it's views. We got to see the Sawtooths during the service and then went out afterwards to take pictures. Here are all the cute cousins (minus Spencer) with the picturesque background

Now to finish off the post, here's a pic I took that turned out awesome. It is of the three Stubbs men diving into the lake. Can you believe they are related? :)
