I was spoiled on Mother's Day by getting breakfast in bed. It was so yummy!

Even having to speak in Sacrament Meeting was worth it too because I got flowers. Speaking on Mother's Day was actually a really good experience for me. The last time I spoke over a pulpit about my mom was at her funeral. I've been able to process her life and death so much more over these past 2 1/2 years that it was kind of therapeutic to get to speak about her and all the other amazing mother-figures in my life.
May's installment of the Baby Breakfast Club (a group of mom's in my ward who all had babies around the same time and who like to have an excuse to get together to talk and eat food) was fun. These little babies have all grown up so much since we started. This time I wanted all the moms in the picture because I think all these women are fabulous and I wanted it documented. The babies are cute too. :)
Jared had to speak in Stake Conference. He did a great job! What's with both of us speaking at church? I dunno.
We had a fun visit from one of my dearest friends and her family. The were stopping by on the way to the coast and I am so glad they did! We spent half a day with them (wish it could have been longer!) and showed them some of the fun things to do in Boise. Here is an awkward picture of Afton with Mel and Simon behind them at a fun little beach on the river. My only documentation of their visit. Oops.
Next up was Ben's last preschool program. They sang at a retirement home. He said his part really well and cheesed it up for the camera. Good boy.
There were other random fun times during the month too like running thru the sprinklers with friends
Having quality Dad time in the evenings
And getting the biker gang all ready to ride (Cade really can't ride that bike yet but he loves to sit on it)
For Memorial Day we hunkered down while everyone was sick. While some of us were falling down though, Cade took the opportunity to learn how to walk! He's a natural and it is really cute to see him tottering around all Mr. Independent.
We rounded off the month with Afton "graduating" from Kindergarten. Wohoo! She loved every minute of the school year and is very excited to be a 1st grader next year and go ALL day to school.
